The Abrahamic God is often held up as the moral authority of the universe. But if you strip away the incense smoke, the theological jargon, the carefully manufactured church marketing campaigns, and just read the raw biblical texts, you start to notice something strange. This so-called “God” behaves like a narcissist. He demands worship, punishes independence, creates pain just to test loyalty, and constantly insists that you are a sinner, filthy, broken, worthless unless you do what he says.
So let us ask the question plainly.
Do you act like that? Do you have the traits of the Abrahamic God?
1.
Are You an Asshole?
That is the starting point. It might sound crude, but the Bible God is exactly that. He berates his own creation, curses humanity for being what he made them to be, and then demands obedience under threat of eternal torment. What kind of being does that?
Imagine this: You make a clay figurine. It doesn’t walk. So you smash it, scream at it, and then toss it into a fire while shouting, “You disobeyed me!” That is what Genesis describes. The God of the Bible creates people, blames them for failing tests he designed, and then threatens them with hell for not groveling enough.
So the real question becomes this:
Do you want people to obey you simply because you said so?
Would you ruin someone’s life just to teach them a lesson?
If your answer is yes, then congratulations you share the moral compass of Yahweh.
2.
Do You Guilt Trip People Into Submission?
The Abrahamic God repeatedly tells people they are vile, fallen, unworthy. The entire theological concept of “original sin” is a guilt tactic. You are told you are sick from birth, unclean by nature, and can only be redeemed by submitting to divine authority. You are worthless unless this deity says otherwise.
But what kind of being needs to tear others down to feel exalted?
What kind of god needs your suffering to be complete?
If you find yourself manipulating others with shame, keeping them down so they rely on you for validation, you are mimicking this ancient mythic tyrant.
3.
Do You Demand Credit Without Doing Anything?
The Abrahamic God is often praised for “giving us life,” yet does nothing to intervene in the realities of suffering. No divine city was ever built by him. No food rained down from heaven after the Old Testament era. No child was saved from a warzone by his invisible hand. The Holocaust happened. Genocides continue. Famine destroys millions. And yet we are told to “trust in the Lord.”
Let’s be real if a man took credit for everything good in your life, while taking no responsibility for the bad, would you trust him? Or would you call him a fraud?
This is the problem. The Abrahamic God is all talk and no action. No homeland was delivered to the Israelites by God. It was taken by force, manipulated through war, written into forged histories, and later claimed through political propaganda. That is not divine providence. That is human conquest wrapped in religious language.
4.
Do You Think You’re More Important Than You Are?
Another trait of the Abrahamic God is insecurity. Jealousy. Rage. He wants exclusive worship, forbids rivals, and flies into a tantrum when his authority is questioned. In fact, questioning him is often the greatest crime in biblical texts.
But why would a real God even care what you think about him?
A true cosmic intelligence would not need flattery. It would not monitor your thoughts, threaten you for disbelief, or demand constant affirmation.
If there really is a supreme creative force, it would operate like nature—detached, balanced, self-sustaining. It would let you learn your own lessons. It would not be obsessed with your genitals, your dietary habits, your sexual urges, or your personal doubts. But the God of the Bible is obsessed. And the only way that makes sense is if this god is a projection of man.
And that is the truth.
5.
Does This God Have a Penis?
Let’s take the absurdity even further. We are told God is male. Why? Does he have reproductive organs? Is he making other gods? Or is this just another sign that this deity was imagined by patriarchal men projecting themselves into the heavens?
You were given a penis for biological reproduction like a dog or a cat. If God has one, then he is just like us. And if God is just like us, then what makes him God at all?
6.
You Are Not That Different From an Animal
And that is the final nail in the theological coffin.
What makes you different from an animal is not some spark of divine dust but the illusion that you are central to the universe. The same illusion that created Yahweh. A being modeled after man’s ego, insecurities, and hunger for control.
The Abrahamic God is not a reflection of divinity.
He is a mirror of man’s darkest traits.
He is tribalism wrapped in myth.
He is the god of war, vengeance, and vanity.
So if you want to know whether you have the traits of the Abrahamic God, ask yourself this:
Do you rule by fear? Do you need to be worshiped? Do you shame others to control them? Do you think you deserve devotion without question?
If so, you are not divine.
You are just a tyrant looking for a crown.
Just like the god you believe in.
Veritas lux mea.
Another thought-provoking article. Religions were created by MEN first by superstitions and once created, maintained for Power and control once they realized what a great tool it was to keep them in power.
